Crude oil futures have jumped on Thursday following reports of explosions targeting two oil tankers in the Sea of Oman.
Benchmark Brent crude oil rises 4% in trading to over $62 a barrel after the incident, Bloomberg reported.
Reuters, citing four shipping and trade sources, said two tankers — identified as the Marshal Islands-flagged Front Altair and the Panama-flagged Kokuka — had been hit in suspected attacks in the Gulf of Oman, and that the crew had been evacuate from the vessels.
Two large oil tankers have reportedly been bit by explosions in the Sea of Oman.
